Broadwalk, Bristol
The redevelopment of this town centre site with important existing community assets moves away from a retail offering of larger 'big box' budget retail to a new residential led mixed use scheme that focuses on smaller shops, a mix of food and beverage uses, a wider range of leisure, education, lifestyle and business facilities along with higher density urban living.
As a major part of the redevelopment new appropriately arranged urban residential accommodation and improved parking will be part of the redevelopment. The relationship of Broadwalk Shopping Centre to Redcatch Park has been improved by creating good pedestrian linkages and improved public realm.
By balancing social, commercial and architectural drivers along with adopting Bristol City Council's guidance, a new vision will be provided that utilises this town centre site and its excellent community and connectivity.
